The heart wrenching!! Both the characters were complex and so tragic!! Just streams of tear laying flat on my bed at 3am just weeping. They are so miserable.

Couldn't bring myself to dislike Heiner even with all his action at all, he's just trauma personified and all of that just made me pity him so much. Can anyone really be normal being brought up like that? Constant death, the experiments and finally the tortures, can we really judge him from a sane perspective? This isn't just some family mistreated him and he turned evil ml trope, it's genuine trauma of war and all the terrible things done behind closed doors, orphaned and brainwashed. Ofc, he would be all messed up mentally, emotionally. Not an excuse at all, just the result of his upbringings.

I had to look up what a rent boy meant and omg how disgusting those sadist were!! I was so worried he was gonna end up dead at the end, it wouldn't have been a bad ending that way too, I love tragedy too!!

Also it felt cathartic when Annette took a deeper look, and began to see where her outlook went wrong. It's not her fault for being born with a silver spoon, but I can't really sympathise with how ignorant and oblivious she lead her life, she acknowledged it herself that she didn't look too deep into it. My feelings just comes back to the undeserving riches only a few have just coz they are born with it.
