Fandom culture has gotten way too comfortable policing what other people enjoy. The basic rule of fandom has always been simple: read what you like and scroll past what you don’t. Nobody is forcing you to click on a story you already know you hate.

This has been on my mind for a while, so I’m GENUINLY asking has this been happening to others as well? I’ve been seeing a ridiculous amount of hate under BL/GL stories lately, especially the darker, more niche, or taboo ones. And honestly? Most of the comments aren’t even criticizing the story itself. They’re just attacking the people reading it. Like I don’t know if it’s just me or I’m being stupid but I keep seeing them? Is anyone else noticing this? Like it’s been pissing me off
