Jiovanni the ego is gone. The synchronization is Jiovanni becoming a part of him. They're becoming one person, but it's more like Jio is absorbing him.
It's more like the smaller soul is now one with the bigger one. Jio is the origin of all gios, if current jio was split to make the other jios, now they are returning to the origion
