I just looked at the first chapters again because I didn’t think about before, but yeah it’s weird.
But the whole beginning is weird.
First MC gives samsam/max literal dog food by the looks of it.And Samsam/max even says he never washed himself before. Was his owner bathing him??? Because when he became a hybrid he looked like a child. So did fuckface (don’t remember the owners name) not teach him to wash himself before he grew up? Was he washing him as a grown ass man too, before getting rid of him? (I’m also not sure how fast he grew up, because the owner didn’t get older)
I think at the beginning the author wasn’t sure how to handle the hybrids, and only the later world building treats them more humanly. But first it insinuates that hybrids are more animal like (both in mind and in treatment)
Because who the fuck washes a grown man, and lets them fuck their hand, then glosses over it, and feeds them and renames them. As if a your new dog just humped your leg.
And samsam is really that stupid in the beginning to do that?
I really like this story, but I'm still very confused as to why he changed his name.
I thought at first it was maybe because he had trauma related to someone named Max, but the story is ending in 4 chapters, so I don't think it that.
I just find it weird to change the name of a full grown ''man'', especially when at first he was keeping him until he found his owner.
Like if I foster a dog or get a boyfriend I'm not gonna change its name, but maybe that's just me. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
