Okay I read someone’s explanation of this chapter, I promise I’m not stupid but this chapter left me so confused and ig i still am. So everyone knows Na-in knows the truth now and rue is now what exactly… like what will be his position in Na-ins life and why did he look so scared when rue came back in this new position… also i know the pink hair guy (sorry I forgot his name) kinda tricked the servants about the birds to show that they have and will lie to na-in but like that scene kinda confused me cuz we’re they just scared and shocked when Na-in requested the birds be made a symbol of the temple or wtv? Or like why did they have that reaction?

Well how I interpreted it Leshas are kinda like a harem(?) even tho I don’t think Amon never does anything with them. So imagine your servant becoming your partner’s concubine. And with the parrots na-in was supposed to forget where the parrots came from cause they did the ritual on him but he basically announced that they lied to him. Ig they lied cause Amon doesn’t like the pink haired guy or smth like that.

I think that Nain reacted like that to Rue becoming leshah bc they're basically like Amon's consorts? and Nain loves Amon and wants him for himself. And I think that servants reacted that way bc he rewarded leshah and leshah are his "rivals" or smth like that ig (● ̄(エ) ̄●)

i also see it as king of a betrayal and foil to gwen? like rue was nain’s servant but rue basically is devoting himself to amon instead by becoming a leshah. versus gwen who arrived as a leshah and should have been supporting amon but is only working to support nain

Being a Leshah mean they are one step closer to death - ready to serve Amon and Nain whenever and can be disposed as a tribute/offering.. Remember that offering ritual Nain don't want to go through again? and he's constantly begging Amon not to do that ritual anymore?

That was two of the Leshah that offered their life by slitting their throat in front of Nain and Amon, that's the truest loyalty they are talking about.. Na-in doesn't want that for Rue..

It was not about Na-in's love for Amon but it was actually about Na-in's people not dying for him

Amon on the other hand, wanted humanity to perish (in theoryl that's why there are constant life offerings..
