They kinda nerfed him, he always wins through wits now while talking about how much stronger they are than him or how he's running out of power. Too much screen time on the cast of characters that are all pretty boring, feels like there's a lot of padding where you just see the two friends interacting (red head and girl). I'd much rather just see him doing cool magic stuff and realizing magic things through his genius, but now he's just using the shards and that's boring.
I dropped at ch 45, but was starting to feel this for awhile. Let me know if the story goes back to being interesting between then and the current chapter (57) and maybe I'll try and tank through it some more.
