ngl I had to stop reading parts of the novel because it left me genuinely sad. But that's exactly why I think it's such a great story. In my opinion, Chung Myung's despair, guilt, and self blaming are completely valid. Imagine losing everything watching your sect die one by one only to wake up as if it had all happened yesterday. It's unbearably heartbreaking the novel adds so much more depth to his character. It emphasizes everything our MC has been through, making you realize that his sense of humor is often a coping mechanism, while his relentless training stems from the weight of his past. The novel really knows how to play with your emotions fr thats why it was an amazing story for me.
Still, its just my opinion y’all all i can say is if you guys love emotionally heavy stories and can handle the angst, I highly recommend staying until the very end. If not, just stick with the manhwa for now and don't overthink the novel readers' comments the novel is still far ahead of the adaptation. GIVE THIS STORY A CHANCE
