I think the point was to show how complicated trauma and attachment can become, and how hard it is to break away from the cycle of abuse. But the way it wrapped up is lowkey insane. It's exaggerated to the max, and I understand why ur confused.
Also from what I interpret, the mc has a form of trauma related memory loss where he forgot the face of his abuser(?). In the last chapter he says "Sometimes I get startled 'cause he looks similar to someone from my past", and the person he's referring to literally looks identical to the ML, which makes me think he doesn’t fully remember who caused his trauma. I could be wrong though. So basically I interpret it as the main character falling back into the cycle of abuse all over again.
Yeah I get people rating it low bc it’s a horrific ending, but I think the author did an excellent job with this one. People start reading things like this for gooning material which is NOT what this is. Obviously you’re gonna get traumatized if you approach it with 0 media literacy braincells activated. Or even common sense. It was in no way written as a sexual fantasy piece. I think we forget sometimes bc 90% of manwhas (&adjacent) are completely unserious and definitely just the authors kinks or other pure entertainment; but written books, tv shows, and movies all commonly cover a wide range of real-life adjacent drama that’s very fucked up but no one criticizes, because critical thinking skills…

im so confused?? why does the ending seem like it’s telling us the mc is completely okay and happy with this rs? how is he completely normal and okay in the extra?? after all he went through, it just feels disconnected from the whole story, I was hoping there would at least be a hint that the mc has gone insane or something but he really looks like he’s in the ending of a completely healthy and cute bl and it threw me off
