Season 1 was so sweet and wholesome, whereas Season 2 was all about bad communication, a seme punishing an uke because the seme was jealous and somehow the uke is made to feel bad about it, the stereotypical "male best friend is actually a bad person" (TBH, the seme's best friend is also giving him terrible advice, but the narrative isn't supposed to make us hate him), and the villain of the series doesn't pop up much and is dealt with pretty quickly and easily when he finally made his move--which sucks because he'd been shown in S1, so I was hoping for something more engaging.
NGL, even putting the pacing aside, the seme became so toxic and the uke just let it happen and internalized the guilt even when he didn't do anything wrong. It's really put an ick factor for a couple that I loved before. IDK if they can come back from this, since the seme didn't really fix himself and now the uke doesn't have anyone but him since his own best friend is trash.
