tbh i think some people r misunderstanding the mc here by simplifying his character to just being stupid or dumb. it’s more of him just not having a personal regard to his life. he doesn’t consider what we the constitute consequences of our actions simply because he doesn’t really view anything as consequences. ppl seeing him as just one of those typical dumb bottoms who keep forgiving their tops or saying he’s stupid are sort of correct in the notion that someone would see that it’s obvious what bad thing would happen to him next and that he could’ve seen the signs, but it’s clear that mc’s short-term gratification clouds his ability to see the long-term/negative impact. that’s not to say that mc should be blamed when the ml beats or rapes him, obviously not, but I am saying that how he sees bad things are far different than a typical person is
