I always knew Gaon was a good person

To everyone who hated and demonised Gaon: fuuuck you. One of the sweetest characters here, so emotionally mature, and socially aware. I hope she retains her friendship with the MC.

MC doesn't deserve her. She is busy pathetically tailing the ml who pours shit on her left and right, when Gaon had her heart open to MC since day 1.

I like all three of them but I have to say Gaon is not emotionally mature at all. She was repressing her feelings to the point of toxic positivity (mostly because of her parents words and her grief) and now she is choosing to hurt the ml’s feelings and putting the burden on fl to keep a secret knowing she’s vulnerable towards ml. She’s doing to fl what ml did to fl too for selfish reasons. Im not saying she is bad, Im saying all three have different and complex issues and people seem to like Gaon more because of her saviour complex and seeming sweet but that’s still not a good mindset to have. She is self aware, but only to a point. And the other two are self aware to some degree. They’re all teenagers after all so not many expectations of emotional maturity anw.

Yeah completely agree with you on this they have to remember a lot of the chapter right now is biased towards how Gaon sees their relationship with the ml. But also unburdening herself of the consequences and leaving it up to future Gaon and MC is like running away instead of facing the issues

Yes I agree with you, she is running away from the consequences of her actions. But I have to say even with all this, the fact that she finally started processing her negative feelings and resentment towards the ml is progress and also the fact that she admitted it to fmc, basically venting to her shows how Gaon and fmc’s friendship evolved because fmc is the first one she admits all these inner emotions to. But yeah, seeing all these comments made me realise how people will have a harder time seeing the emotional immaturity and issues in a person with a saviour complex or people pleasing because putting others first, being nice and helping is often seen as a great, selfless thing, even though help forced onto people who didn’t ask for it can end up hurting them and always helping others can turn into resentment and other issues. I really like how the author gave each of them complex personalities and issues, this work got me as hooked as their other work, Dreaming Freedom.

I do agree with your point! Still, I still disagree to a certain extent regarding Gaon’s emotional maturity. I do think she is mature, but it’s obviously not that much. The reason why I called her emotionally mature is mostly because of how she’s able to acknowledge her feelings and act accordingly, rather than choosing more destructive means. And for someone her age, it’s still quite a mature thing to do.
