Aside from the fact that the Loneal in Alec's flashback specifically says he "came from somewhere far away" and was afraid of being "condemned", current Loneal also has flashbacks of meeting Chris, once early on after Alec is poisoned by the magical beast's claws, and again in the most recent chapter when Alec disguises himself for the Foundation Day Festival by dying his hair black again.
Considering he doesn't have the og Loneal's memories, yeah, Alec fell in love with the current Loneal. His hair was cut during the coma btw

Because he's very different with original loneal. And we've 6months time gap before loneal enter the school
