As a 21 year old I could NEVER imagine myself dating someone that is still in highschool. He is 28, its even worse. Even if mc was 15-17 it'd be pretty bad

Me too, I was a tutor for highschool level during college years and I NEVER thought about dating them. They're kids to me.
I get that this is fiction but the choice of age gap just doesn't make sense to me. I would be more receptive if there're more moral struggle,dillema, etc surrounding the theme. Not 32 y/o actively molesting someone in his head he knows full well still 17 y/o
