I personally enjoyed this and i dont regret reading it but there are several things i wanna mention.
Pacing: the pacing is pretty bad especially at the end (chapter 60-66). I can look past the big timeskips in the beginning, but near the end it gets kinda clunky, it was obvious the author just wanted the story to end im ngl . Even though Jerry’s feelings for Ilya were marinating since the beginning (he was in denial because he only saw everyone as dolls with predetermined fates). And it was only in the end that we got to see him start to see him acknowledge those feelings. I wouldve loved to see more sweet interactions between them near the end. ITS CRAZY WE DIDNT EVEN SEE THEM KISS DURING THEIR WEDDING LIKE WTH.
Plot: So many details didnt get shown much love at all (karyan, weird fortune teller guy, mc’s backstory, etc) It feels like somewhere along the line, the author just decided to drop certain things, most likely because it wouldve required more effort put into those ideas for them properly develop. For example: Siren. For some reason he was on the likability thing, but Jerry didnt earn any points with him and its just “???” the whole time. What was the point of including that if you werent gonna develop it even a little bit? And Karyan just randomly disappeared, like what?? I quite liked him too so it was disappointing to see how Jerry always be so uncomfortable around him and he just never gets the chance to properly warm up to him, but idgaf im just mad Karyan never showed up again. And i feel like when the fortune teller asked Jerry who he was, it lowkey opened a whole new plot/storyline, like Jerry couldve experienced some sort of identity crisis or homesickness as he juggled his past life and whatnot, but i cant really build onto those ideas because we hardly know who he was in his past, how he felt about his past life or what kind of life he lived. We just see the same fuckass image of him getting run over by truck kun .
Lastly and arguably the worst about this manhwa: The incest romance route. To be fair, Jerry was never pleased about him having his brothers as romance options, in fact it disgusted him. And i really liked that. But the incest wasnt really unnecessary at all but it was handled WAY better than i thought it would.
HOT TAKE: the incest part was lowkey important because it somehow led to some amazing character development. Jerry’s initial aversion to interacting with any of his brothers in fear of accidentally initiating their routes showed how Jerry kept putting power into the system, letting it dictate his choices and whatnot. but you can see Jerry warming up to them when he learns that his brothers just genuinely love him as family, letting him find his place in their lives without the constant fear of the system forcing him to be with any of them. And it made me so happy to see their routes deleted, not just because i hate the incest, but because it shows Jerry’s mutual acknowledgment and love for his brothers knowing that if he doesnt want to pursue them, he simply doesnt have to. Which shows him gradually gaining control over his life!
But i will say, one of the things the author did right was character development because my cheeks r hurting from how cute the ilya and jerry are
