I'M ACTUALLY MAD AT MYSELF FOR NOT READING THIS SOONER.
This had been sitting on my reading list for ages. I was this close to removing it... then I gave the first chapter a chance.
Big mistake.
Because I got completely hooked and ended up finishing the whole thing in one night.
The SLOW BURN in this story deserves a standing ovation.
The author knows exactly how to tease the readers. Every chapter had me thinking, "Okay... THIS is the moment." And then... nope. They kept building the tension so well that I couldn't stop turning the pages.
That kind of restraint made every romantic moment hit even harder.
My only complaint is that the ending felt a little rushed. There were a few questions that never got answered, and I was left wondering, who on earth was the prince's older brother everyone kept mentioning? The story kept bringing him up, but we never really got a proper reveal, and I needed that closure.
Still, that doesn't take away from how much I enjoyed it.
A solid 9/10 from me, and it's definitely going on my re-read list. If you love slow burns that know exactly how to keep you addicted, don't sleep on this one. ♡
