I personally feel like the author's storytelling isn't great, as evident by the main story/mystery and the random appearance of a sister who was never mentioned either in MC's quickly ran-through backstory. But this chapter was...kinda unnecessary, in terms of content. Out of nowhere, the ML reveals that MC and ML met each other before the series started, which doesn't really do anything for the story or give us insight into ML's motivations of mindframe. It's just "hey, remember the first time we met?"/"That actually wasn't the first time we met, but you don't know it."
