I don't think she trusts her too much in the sense that she's following along with the other girl who could be malicious (if that's what you meant). Because I think the other girl is genuine. When we know her thoughts she's actually thinking about her 'sister', the FL. I think the plan was shitty, personally, because the FL wanted to play the part of the cold hearted Duke rather than let the other girl take the fall alone. So she was fine hurting the ML but not her friend. So I'm more blaming the FL than the friend.
