As far as my understanding she didn't tell him cause she's ready to face her punishment like she didn't want to use her identity as "rose" to get away the punishment she truly deserve like you can see how much he hate lissane the woman who cause him to be blind. In her eyes whatever happening to her is what she deserves and didn't want his feelings to affect his punishment for her it's obvious since the guy delivering the fruits and stuff know what she looks like and wants to tell him but his didn't want him to (the novel did a better sending this message I think ) she wants to face punishment as Lissane not as Rose
I hope what I said is understandable none of them deserves this but are force in a situation where they can't run off to so sad
Ughhhh I’m so mad but I can’t even blame him or her bc they didn’t know!!! I just wish she would have written a letter before she left him as he was regaining his vision that told him the truth. And left the ball in his court as to forgive her or not. After all that trauma, I’m sorry there’s no way they should be together, there’s too much of an imbalance in regret
