The problem with Compton is that he is manipulative and duplicitous. Heejae is a very damaged, abusive character, but at least he is self-aware. That's why I like him more, because what he does is not necessarily conscious. Compton, on the other hand, deliberately uses the "pull it, let it go" technique of abusers, and in doing so, he creates a cult around himself. Heejae is a deeply damaged person who is slowly opened up by Garam's kindness and acceptance.
