Holy strawman fallacy, batman! Do you really not see the difference between a) reading a fictional smut story about characters that do not in any way involve you, and b) considering going out to find an easy piece of ass to screw in order to relieve some stress while being in a committed long-term relationship?

Of course, there's no way we should ever condemn anyone for a thought crime, but stories like these are specifically written to endear us to characters through both their actions AND their thoughts. That's why we have direct access to their inner dialogue as well as their speech. So when at the end of a stressful day, Kaji's first thought is "what if I got drunk and had a quick and easy fling," then yeah, that's really not a good look for him.

I have no doubt he's gonna remain faithful, but after everything he and Fukami have been through so far, it's pretty messed up that his default state STILL seems to be "ah yes bartender I'll have your finest one-night stand please and thank you." Sure, he regrets it immediately, but the fact that he needs to consider cheating on his partner first in order to THEN reach out to said partner is not character growth; it's regression of the growth he's been making for the past 40+ chapters.

There is really no need to be rude. I was just trying to make a point and raise a question about what others consider cheating. I personally do not think thoughts of cheating, whether they were fantasies about real people or not, are cheating at all. And to me, when I was reading it, i really didn't even read it that way.

This is how I read it: I have been sober for 5 years, but when I'm very stressed out, sometimes I say, outloud, "I need a drink". When stressed, I may have thoughts about going out to a bar or to the liquor store, but that doesn't mean I act on them. I know its not exactly the same, but the seme was a straight up horndog player at the beginning. I think it is totally understandable that when he's incredibly stressed and anxious that he could have a negative thought. But he backtracked IMMEDIATELY. Its not like he went out to a gay bar and looked around for an hour and then went home and said "I'm not cheating". He literally was like hmmm sauna? NO THATS CHEATING. end thought. He didn't have any specific plans nor and specific person in mind. I just think people are being way to harsh about this. The character is a human being. Humans an imperfect.

I just wish people wouldn't be so harsh on authors you know? like let them work out their creative ideas, if you don't like it, thats fine. But you don't have to call into question their morality over it yah know? Idk, peace and love ya'll, peace and love. I did give up, yesterday. By rude comments like the one above yours and because the ones in charge to approve stuff doesn't approve shit. I waited almost a day for them to approve me chapters 81-83 (which are AMAZING btw). I don't understand how this site works anymore.

What makes me feel better is analyzing the situation and seeing there are like... 5 or 6 commenters being passive aggressive since yesterday and the rest being pieces of sunshine as always. I still have faith.

I apologize for being rude. I wanted to highlight that the comparisons you drew were, well, not really all that comparable, since one included fictional stories and the other had to do with real people.

As for your example: the thing is, sobriety and impulsive thoughts about breaking it in moments of stress affects no other person than yourself (in the grand scheme of things). If you break sobriety due to a lapse in judgement, you don't break an emotional commitment made to another person; you don't hurt someone you have promised to be faithful to. However, when you're in a relationship and infidelity is what comes to your mind during hard times, it's different, because that dynamic automatically involves another person. Him considering cheating, however momentarily, is not just about his own situation and his own weakness, because the consideration itself involves Fukami; rather, it disregards both Fukami and their relationship completely.

If you think thoughts about cheating don't count, you do you. If I found out one day that my partner was going around thinking about having sex with other people every time things got rough, well, I wouldn't want to be with them for much longer. Maybe that makes me prude or part of the "thought police," but to me, when you're in a committed relationship, you don't go around fantasizing about being with other people.

I mean you are entitled to your own opinion, and for the record I don't think you are wrong or anything. But there isn't one way to have a relationship and matters of cheating are also not always peoples biggest fears/worries, which is also valid.
