They are both the same name dw just different adaptation of it, as the name is in cyrilic and not Latin alphabet. Yevgeny is the closest one to the original pronunciation tho
sorry for the confusion. I asked about this before, and my friend told me the russian pronunciation is closer to “Yevgeny.” But I’ve switched to “Evegeny” to match the official translation and avoid any confusion.
Honestly, I’ve seen Yevgeny everywhere and I think it looks better. I don’t think there will be any confusion since most people have been following the unofficial releases of both novel and manhwa.
It’s kinda like in the book Nightwatch, there’s a character whose name is translated as Egor in the book, and Yegor in the movie.
Preference wise, I prefer the version the unofficial releases have been using. I do think omitting the “Y” will change the way people pronounce the name.
But I’ve been reading the unofficial novels + manhwa translations, and they’ve all used “Yevgeny”, so it was a little jarring to see the official chapters use “Evgeny”.
I haven’t read the official novel translation because I wanted to binge read but the stupid company that licensed the novels is just sitting on them, so I don’t know what name they use.
