a lot of people are giving the author grace, but its pretty evident the intent is to make yuri a redeemable pedophile. there is zero - absolutely zero - need for yuri to be so much older than xinlu in the story. and this entire repetition of xinlu being his first love, of yuri *clearly* still being obsessive over xinlu even decades later, of yuri's never ending love and how he almost seems to view the boy-xinlu as separate from the adult-xinlu, its all gross as hell. yuri being passive in the story - not seeking xinlu out, being the bottom, getting outright assaulted by xinlu - all of it is done to whitewash yuri's extremely obvious attraction for a little boy. if yuri had been the top, had yuri been more aggressive (even just in their ADULT interactions), this comment section would not be as forgiving as it currently is lol

im not trying to be a party pooper or anything - hell, im not even dropping the story. but it *is* frustrating to see people fall for the author's clear attempt at creating a pedophile people will root for and then defending it... like, nah, author isn't slick and i honestly think this is just a result of stricter laws in korea regarding depictions of kids in fiction. sad, though, i was really enjoying this story :/

How do I like your comment a hundred times over? ’Cause fr! It’s freaking weird and creepy the way Yuri has always viewed child Xinlu. I bet if it were an ugly character or a villain they didn’t like, people would be calling them out for it immediately. Damn, ukes really get so many passes for the questionable things they do.
And all those downvoters really needs to stay far away from children or go outside and touch some grass
