everyone arguing that people should read the novel are missing the point - the artist or adaptation writer (or whoever is preparing the dialogue for this) is intentionally being misleading and implying yuri is attracted to little boys.
if anything, it does suck that the original author is gonna get flack for an adaptation of her work, but there is no denying that the intent of the manwha has been to heavily imply that yuri is attracted to child-xinlu. someone shouldn't have to read a whole other piece of media - the novel - to realize that isn't the case. that's ridiculous.
also, they could just as easily show yuri's thoughts here like they did in the novel. this is a manwha told mostly from yuri's perspective - his thoughts have been outlined the entire time. the artist knows what they're doing, and even if the very next chapter has yuri saying "oh, but it wasn't romantic", nah. c'mon. the time for exposition was the other ten thousand times yuri has called xinlu his first love and described his obsessive thoughts about him. or even in this very scene, where yuri is asked about "a first love he fell so hard for it made his heart ache"???? it would have been as simple as pie for the author to include a brief thought bubble of yuri going, 'well... it's not romantic love, but-'
the bar is on the ground and people are rightfully bothered by the direction of the story... and, i think, should be even more bothered given that this wasn't the way the original story was presented at all.

I feel like the adaption is trying to make a point or something but it got cckblckd by the tbc without having to put more context in there people should wait for the next chapter.
