Well, if you're going to read psychological and dark romances, then you need to know that the only consensual thing in this whole genre is the reader CONSENSUALLY reading this. Meaning, if you're reading this, you don't really get to complain about it until and unless you're gonna quit. For example, I read 'reverse thinking'. I did not like it at all, it was way out of the stuff I can stomach. I complain about it a lot, and thats fine, because I quit that shit. Of course, rape isn't supposed to be normalised. People are fucking lunatics who think he is cute, but at the same time, Yevgeny did have one of the most satisfying redemption arcs, so.
tbh i dont have any problem with reverse thinking, it is psycological horror, it shows rape and abuse as it is, they both are monsters and author is not avoiding the fact and if you have read novel they also went to therapy , but here it is romance, they are romantising SA which is creepy and disgusting , if author here accepted the fact that Zhenya is rapist and is disgusting monstor i would have no problem with it but no it is not like that at all, every time it was shown Zhenya SAs his patner because he "loves" him, honestly something is wrong with him. and with most "romantic rapist" mls, they are in desperate need of therapy. and if in some point in future if Zhenya did go to therapy or accepts that he is a psycopath, i will definitely continue this. (and yeah i am complaing because i am quitting)

novel. though i havent quite read the whole thing myself yet (the translation was pretyt bad on the novel because i pirated it lol), i do know bits and pieces and i know that he redeems himself pretty well.
declaring it as "psychological horror" does not make it any better. cna also declares in its tags that this includes rape and other forms of sexual assault which may trigger some readers. you see, reverse thinking has those warnings on every single chap, whereas in cna, it exists on only a few ones. bottom line is, both are dark, but reverse thinking is genuinely the absolute worst i've seen, because in the novel, the ml makes a fucking dog rape the mc. also, the mc in reverse thinking also has physiological reactions to sexual stimulation, and he actually asks the ml to put a leash on him if thats what it takes for him to go out. zhenya doesn't go to therapy from what i know, but he has worser things coming for him. the regret arc is actually insane.

story is horrifying (i had nightmares after it too) i agree , but i read it for horror you see ,that is not romance, but this has romance tag, i am disgusted at hypocracy of this story, its just bland and i dont even know what to say, with how many times Zhenya raped MC he should be arrested or i mean its just shit ( just imagine if other person treated MC same way ML treated, will you be like he is also love intrest? ) i am just asking for accountability. if authour at some point do punish Zhenya, (redemption arc better not be him begging and crying, that is not even enough for anything) i will agree but for now its bad.
i am telling you "reverse thinking" is being worst doesnt make this story any good, if we speak they are worse stories too , and that doesnt make This story any better. My problem is with romantising the rape. Both are diffrent genres of stories. and dare i say MC in reverse thinking got what de did back, both are scums. but what did MC here do to deserve all that rape?
at least let it not be him crying on his knees and apologising , that is must but not enough, nothing he does can reedem him, once you SA some one you scar them for life , and that is really big deal, but it is really glossed over here....
