Actually i liked how story did not romantice rape and how strong idris was actually was. but i dont understand why they gave Laurent any backstory at all? like its not even sad enough for him to justify anything not like he can even. and the biggest plothole of all is how Laurent killed all other nobels even the duke but just let zin be? tbh he was easiest to kill of all, he is new lord and he dont have any network and other lords tend to look down on him, Laurent could have easily killed him, it would have been more feasible for him to escape somewhere and create a rebellion or assisnate emporer but yeah *shrug*
