I think about this story also lot. I know some people will be disappointed about not having an expansive worldbuilding but I think this is not the point of the story. I think is enough of a bite for us to understand this is a harsh world that ended, and the aliens that took over have the capacity to do bad as much to do good in the main story. This was Mori journey to find a family, and now on the epilogue, we experience what family feels like. The love and the warmth, as well the tightrope of offering just enough of a "human" life for Mori for them to still have their connection to the ones that look like him. A true bridge between the Aliens and Humans.
The world they share is healing, slowly but healing nonetheless. Mori, like us the reader, discover this world together. It was a place we rooted and cried with them. I hope we have physical copies internationally one day this one was one of my favorite ones
