I mean it is just a fact media influences what is seen as acceptable or understandable in society, and can normalise certain behaviours. Like for example the common presentation of women as sexual objects, which helps to normalise negative attitudes towards them and ppl who would treat them as such. You don't have to be personally influenced by it to recognise the potential harm. In fact only ppl who aren't influenced by it are able to stand back and be more objective about whether it's right or not. I don't understand the argument ppl try make that all entertainment and media should somehow be separated entirely from morality, and a moral argument is supposedly less valid or worthy because of that. It sounds like it makes sense at a surface level sure but thinking about it for more than two seconds what even would be the argument for that. It's a lot of words disguised under a guise of liberty or freedom without recognising ppl's liberties are restricted all the time everywhere to varying degrees depending on the overall potential impact or harm the state sees a specific act as having. I mean personally i don't really care if people wanna read incest, i don't think this act specifically is going to be normalised just because of manga like this, but it makes no sense to get angry at people who are upset. At least not using this argument anyway. It would be a slightly more logical and unemotional argument even to argue there's little moral argument against incest but no one on the side of reading about it wants to try that angle for whatever reason
