Fiction doesn't have to be moralizing or activist, nor do the characters need to teach you the difference between right and wrong; it’s up to you to have enough critical thinking to discern that what you’re reading has no real impact on your fucking reality. If the mere depiction of evil tempts you to imitate it, then you should rethink your own values; perhaps your morality relies entirely on a fiction to be shaped (...which depends on you as an individual—how easily influenced you are).
