Pacing is fine to me. There a whole lot of shit to resolve, characters with actual moral depths and dilemmas, and the author has a story to tell that doesn't only revolve around romance. As readers, I think we should get more used to stories that take actual time to explore and resolve drama. Instead of stories (like there are so many, take your pick) where tension is quickly resolved, because the sweet conclusion is the entire point, this one is about the way the tension holds and impact the plot and characters. If you want a quick resolution instead of actual angst, I suggest you simply do not read this one.
