Exactly. The way people are bashing Yeon for even having an ounce of a spine is ridiculous. They want a uke that stands up for themself and wants to pave a way for themself, but once they do it’s throwing tomatoes. Like?? Who would feel happy that someone they liked and admired “pre-paid” and got them the scholarship. His hard work didn’t get that scholarship, his “sugar daddy” did.

But this is the thing, the "scholarship" wasn't even real in the first place. He had tried to give him the money up front and he refused because of his pride, so he made up the scholarship. I'm not saying he's not a hard working person but we've seen that his hard work was not enough multiple times. Nothing is wrong with saying you need help, it doesn't make you spineless
When you love someone and they don’t love you back, the least thing you would want is money, he accepted his help, he accepted a place to stay, food, clothes, the only thing he didn’t was money. When you accept money from someone is almost likely your relationship will never develop because money is indirect, impersonal. Hearing him say “sugar baby” is basically calling him a prostitute, a leech, and hard working people would never want to hear that.

That is true! You can’t act like that’s not true. He’s accepted everything even though he felt like he’d be a burden if he did, but he let his pride go for those specific things. When you’ve struggled w/ money all your life and you had to work to get it, you aren’t usually gonna accept the first cash wad someone hands out to you. His pride can get in the way, but I don’t think it’s because of this reason. Money is a very vulnerable topic to some people, and someone that you love who’s just willing to give that to you even though you refused and said that you want to at least have this one thing for yourself (despite the struggles) will definitely make you feel some sort of way.
