Okay so they are both their own kind of crazy and they made it work. Guess they were made for each other. But, wtf is with that finale!? Seriously!? Is that the way they're ending it!? Lame. I think there should've been a little more growth and development. Seems like they ended it prematurely.
Anyway, initially I wasn't sure if was gonna stick with this. The ML is more f*cked in the head than the MC, imho. His violence toward the MC was hard to stomach, and the MC's piss-poor communication skills left me speechless at times. I mean his comments so often were the cart before the horse and, jeez, has he ever thought of clarifying anything!? And that goes both ways! Omg! The ML could've clarified so much more and could've also not been so damn cryptic! Wth!?
They are a frustrating couple. At the finale I can say it was an engaging read if for no other reason at least for want of seeing them grow beyond these frustrating attributes, and while there was some minute growth in that department, it was so minimal that you just know that something horribly twisted will happen again. I would've loved to read to a finale where that was truly overcome and where their relationship became more than formless. Like it was formless the whole time, wouldn't it have been more satisfying if it transformed into a solid definite shape. As it stands, it may have more definition, but it's still not a distinct form. There are too many things not clarified, too much ambiguity.
Still, it was definitely an entertaining read. If you can make it through the violence, abuse, the power imbalance and the coercive control the ML uses against the MC, then I think it's entertaining. This dynamic in the story is good food for in-depth analysis. (。ᴖ ⤙ ᴖ)
