Complex

I love how complex the characters are. In my opinion both MC and ML are selfish but not in the bad ways. So I feel bad for them.

MC doesn't have a good childhood and growing up without being loved properly. He never get treated with kindness so a small act of kindness will make him confused. I feel like he believes that people only treat you nicely because they want something from you or they have ulterior motives. Hence why MC couldn't understand why ML keep being nice to him even after ML told him that he just reminded ML about ML step brother. At the same time MC probably desperate to keep wanting that kindness from ML even though he knows the kindness is not genuine.

As we all know, ML is just probably being nice and he even said MC reminded him of his own younger stepbrother. So ML probably just trying to make himself feel better by treating MC nicely because he feels guilty for being an asshole towards his step brother. He tried to give MC everything because he regrets for not being a good brother for his step brother. He even already stated it to MC about it.

Both of them are complex and I love it. That's all of my ridiculous yapping.
