Tell without showing

This is a story that tells you everything without showing you shit. Which is bad writing.

She’s supposed to be super smart (at least studious smart), strong, and capable. SO WHY is she always so conveniently stupid (ignoring a spell that triggered on her, left the evidence on the floor, needs help figuring out a lock spell when she studied magic), and weak (her magical strength feels undermined, and whenever she’s in trouble the ML swoops in to save her when she doesn’t need any saving??). Also WHY has she not tried to figure out why she’s having dream sex with the ML all the time??? Clearly magic has been used on them. Is that not cause for concern???

The author has once again failed to write a competent female character because if she was actually smart and strong, she wouldn’t be constantly floundering about her emotions with the ML. She’d have an actual backbone and a brain that wasn’t so dicked down that she could actually do something that mattered.

Also can we get rid of the stupid trope where somehow the FL saved the ML in their childhood and now she’s insecure cause she thinks it was someone else? It’s such an unearned reveal.
