Agreed 100%. Nobody would think I read stories with rape and other extremely toxic stuff in real life, because what I read doesn’t reflect me as a whole. And I don’t think that rape is okay because I read such things. Come on! It’s also not exclusively mentally ill people like some imply, those with good childhood and overall healthy mental state read such stories. It’s usually if you’re already a fucked up person that then consumes these, and ACTS OUT ON IT. Stories aren’t the cause. If people can’t control themselves and read without wanting to act out on it, something is wrong with them before reading.
