Did y'all lose the plot??

I know MC is being annoying, but his thought process seems valid in this scenario. Did we forget how the ML was and how this situation came to be? He needs reassurance, but with the relationship starting off as it did and both of them not communicating their feelings, it would be hard to not be questioning things from his perspective
