No it’s literally part of his medical condition many people who have face blindness go through similar issues bc they don’t see emotions it’s like a missing link in the development process they go off gesture and tone even then if they aren’t specifically taught it’s even harder it’s like someone texting you something and it gets misconstrued bc the lack of tone level room for misunderstanding or interpretation
No. I disagree with your take, also that’s his step brother, not half brother. They are not the same, half brother means you share blood via one parent whereas step brother means from a previous marriage. It said his mother recently got remarried, so I take it that he doesn’t feel comfortable with the new family members since he said he feels like an intruder. He doesn’t have to accept them, so I think it’s fine that he calls his step brother an acquaintance. It’s not about him being dense or professional.
It does tho he literally explains that he’s always had the social ineptitude. He didn’t fit in and he doesn’t force himself tohe felt like he needed to let his mom have that happiness and move on, and that he didn’t want to interrupt her new happy life or family so he excluded himself from them and that’s also what I said is that there is a spectrum of the way that they tend to treat people they either are completely indifferent or overly kind because when you can’t recognize people, they all kind of smoosh into one box that’s an overall consensus that happens to a lot of people with facial blindness that is their reality It’s even crazier to say that a lot of people who had facial blindness used to be mischaracterized when they were very young as sociopaths because of the way they interpret emotions and also when blend families, this is a common occurrence when there’s an older child they feel like they’re burden or that they are encroaching a completely normal feeling there are literal Disney Channel & Nickelodeon shows with this exact trope to help kids navigate that difficult niche kids get jealous and hurt they tend to react in many ways anger, isolation, people pleasing all very normal the parents should’ve made sure that the kids felt more comfortable with each other. Yes but after adulthood, he’s not even as close with his mother as he should you shouldn’t expect him to treat a stepbrother as family either especially when he talks about he literally has one friend and that’s because she loves him and reaches out to him he’s indifferent to people because they’re blank slate every time he has to talk to somebody, he has to peace together, who they are what they want and how they feel it’s a lot of work it’s a shitty things to go through it’s also sad h internalizes and projects because that’s the way he has to cope. It’s not healthy, but it’s getting him through.
Also he said that to distance himself from his work colleagues not his stepbrother his work colleagues were being nosy, and he knew they were gonna cause drama as we literally see this spread around the office that he was on a date he just didn’t want to get involved or have to deal with those people he didn’t want to hassle the drama or the problem that it brings that’s why he doesn’t interact with anybody at work that’s why he would eat alone and he never went to work parties because social interactions to him are exhausting

im so sick of him being so dense u cant be this stupid its not being professional anymore he’s acting all grown while not doing shit DONT PISS ME OFF JUST TALK
