it’s literally part of his medical condition many people who have face blindness go through similar issues bc they don’t see emotions it’s like a missing link in the development process they go off gesture and tone even then if they aren’t specifically taught it’s even harder it’s like someone texting you something and it gets misconstrued bc the lack of tone level room for misunderstanding or interpretation like there are cases where people can’t even see their own face in the mirror like imagine devotional stunt you have from being a baby and not being able to recognize your mother’s face and if it’s not caught very early on in the learning years, it’s the same as a language if you’re not top for the age of seven, it gets substantially harder and for them the differentiation is so hard that they tended treat all relationships the same a lot of it is on the broad spectrum of indifference or straight kindness because you can’t tell the difference between your loved one a stranger most of the time and people will bring up being blind you learn at a very young age that you’re blind you live with that and are taught in a specific way to communicate and develop emotions like a lot of people with face blindness prefer reading over watching movies and TV shows because they can’t follow it and even when they read, they’re not making up faces in their head because they won’t see faces you could describe something to them, but they’ve never known
Like it’s a literal neurological disorder that can be considered a disability in many cases
So my list is being weird again and deleted all of my want to read and but a bunch of things in my already read my want to read list literally now only has 20 when it used to be thousands I’ve been adding since 2021 and it’s like really sad and depressing especially seeing that people are saying only if u rated or comment will you get it back like some of those are deep pulls I’ll never get back and some are getting updated and I’m unaware it’s like reading is my solace and escape

Girl I get you it’s really upsetting. Every end of the year, I take a screenshot of my profile (MyRead) so I can keep it as a souvenir. I’ve been doing it for years. You should try it too it’s a nice keepsake. It gives me peace of mind knowing that everything I’ve read each year is recorded. I miss my list｡:ﾟ(;´∩`;)ﾟ:｡
