Who is Seungmin? I mean, why he is so invested in this case, (and not just for Jy, bevause he started to stop the drug even before he meet with Jy) why he working together with so many people to solve the case? He even said, the music career and to be famous is not even matters to him and he would give all of it up just to spend more time with Jy, then why he became a rapper and all?
as a reader, we don't have any concrete facts right now so it's all speculation at the moment. what we do know is that sm is on the good guys side so i wouldn't worry about him betraying jy if anything.
- sm didn't start rap because of a burning passion or anything, he was just looking for a way to get famous without any backing since he's been living in BR most of his life (c24). coincidentally, hyeonseo had a similar background where he had no experience with rap but still won 'drop that money s1.' so yeah he has the talents with composing etc (his lyrics for lose myself embody his harsh upbringing c28) but in the end, entertainment never was his dream. that's why he says he can throw it all away at the drop of a hat and hasn't exactly released anything since he was already famous enough, which was his main goal.
- as for why he needs to get famous? definitely to get his foot out there and do his own hands-on investigation without looking conspicuous. cheolmin wanted to use club favela's VIP room to deal (c16) so the target audience for h100 looks to be rich & famous celebrities. we usually see sm in jy's POV where he's kind, affectionate, and full of aegyo. but based on the livestream, we can see sm put up a wall ie. puts his hood on when the livestream starts, stops smiling on-screen... (c28). even as early as ch7, the fans have varying impressions of him. however, he's still openly affectionate towards jy and wants it to be known that they're close, maybe to shake jun up who he has an inkling is linked to h100 (or just soft-launch jy /lh)
- all the ppl sm has been working with on the case has been with him since his childhood (bokyeong, kyeongmin) so his reason to get involved is something personal we have yet to confirm. km is not only jy's doctor, but he's also a researcher of h100 (c13) and has even joined in ngos for brazil with bk (c24). as for the twins who are the same age as sm, i wonder if they met in rehab since they brought it up once for maria (c11). she also seems to know a lot about drugs for someone who is 'just an office worker.' i also still believe that it was sm's father who got caught in the addiction since he talks about him like a faraway existence
