Okay wait… this new development is actually pretty similar to what I’ve been speculating all along. First, I did say that SM’s father might’ve had something to do with the production or distribution of the drug back where he grew up. And now that we know SM came back to Korea with the intention of becoming famous, I’m starting to think the whole point was to make himself visible enough for his missing father to notice him and eventually contact him.
And that remorseful remark to JY about how JY got hurt because of him… is clearly because SM genuinely believes his father was the reason JY got hurt. If his father was somehow behind the drug that affected JY’s health and career in Korea, then it would explain why SM feels personally responsible for what happened.
