I don't understand why people love Nanjo so much. Simply put, if you step away from the plot and take the character as a person in a vacuum, without any circumstances, he's an incredibly unpleasant guy with a very, VERY difficult personality.
He has one of the traits I hate most: labeling people and then "implanting" thoughts and words into their heads. It's like he's made up something about others and can't accept the idea that it's not true. It's incredibly annoying.
Plus, he's portrayed as Sexy Mr. CEO, but he's incredibly bad at responsibility.
I understand that it's fashionable these days to drool about "setting boundaries" (which, in my humble opinion, isn't quite what Nanjo does, especially given the first part of the story, BUT LET'S SAY IT IS), but damn, other than that, he's just a terribly unpleasant person, completely arrogant and unlikable.
Or is it just his appearance?

seems like he has a "saviour complex" or something. he believed he had to save the twink from mokyeon, and refused to see the truth in front of him.

however, i think we can give him some leeway since he was kind of clear from the start that he didn't like mokyeon. Like he isn't being manipulative or malicious, he is just refusing to accept his feelings and is denying the truth. It's not unreasonable for him to be annoyed by mokyeon because from his perspective, he made a deal with him to "protect" the twink and mokyeon broke that deal. I think maybe the author will reveal why exactly nanjo was so obsessed with being with the twink.

No, I don’t think Nanjo actually dislikes Mokyeon. We literally saw him slowly opening up to Mokyeon before all of this. Like, you don’t just open up to someone you genuinely hate or dislike.

I think the bigger issue is that Nanjo has this strong self-image of being the person who protects the twink. But at "that point", he realized he was actually getting caught up in the “pleasure” of it. And I think that realization completely messed with his sense of identity. He couldn’t accept that version of himself—the one who wasn’t purely the “protector”—so he desperately held onto that identity instead. That’s why he snapped at Mokyeon and kept chasing after Sunhwa until the very end.

But honestly, Nanjo is NOT the great “protector” he thinks he is. Like, what kind of protector knowingly agrees to enable cheating? Sure, Mokyeon manipulated him, and sure, Nanjo believed he was sacrificing himself, but he had SO much power and so many options to reject Mokyeon’s terms.

And Mokyeon isn’t even some mastermind manipulator. His conditions had tons of loopholes. And nanjo had the advantage in basically everything—status, wealth, intelligence, connections, you name it. He’s a fucking 32-year-old CEO. There’s no way he was genuinely that clueless.

oh yeah, I totally agree with you. When I said he dislikes him, I meant more that that is what he wants. He's already in love imo, but unwilling to accept it. So the way he treats Mokyeon isn't him being ACTIVELY manipulative (liking him but also ignoring him) but it's a result of his refusal to accept his true feelings. He is in denial which is why he chooses to "dislike" Mokyeon because he can easily create a version of events where Mokyeon is the "bad guy" and he is the "good guy" and the twink is the "victim" and so he won't have to face the truth of what he feels.

Exactly like you said, he doesn't want to face the truth of his own actions because it contradicts his image of himself, so he's comfortable letting mokyeon take the blame for starting the whole thing in the first place as if he himself didn't agree to do it. I fully agree with you.

He wants to be the saviour, ceo, smart guy who solves everything, he doesn't want to be the guy who cheated on his partner bc he wanted that d
