Like genuinely I tried so hard to read this. This was OK at the start. I could see it getting iffy and the amount of horrid plot holes like very obvious, bad writing and bad world build is insane. At first, it was pretty OK like you could see it and then it just kept getting worse and worse and worse. I made it so far so I really wanted to complete this but the minute that the king collapse that was my last fucking strong because why is the dude that technically supposed to be responsible for the kitchen not being blamed at all for this happening under his nose and being severely punished.
The first issue that literally almost broke the camels back is the king said that he had already gone to war with the priesthood whatever so why just why didn’t they take over then what could’ve happened? Nothing was explained to us why they couldn’t take over then that is a massive chunk of story that they could’ve added to explain everything better and get the story into a better track instead of just like the big bad, but nothing needs to be explained because it’s clear that their goal even from them was to take over for what reason I don’t know probably demons. It’s always that.
The second one is clearly the fucking castle is his territory and he refuses to investigate when absolutely everybody is getting hurt there as I said before not blaming the literal head chef which is his responsibility for absolutely everybody else in the kitchen because that’s usually how it works there’s always a hierarchy technically she already found evidence, but it was only of one person, but she found evidence of absolutely everybody else, but they are still there a cook, no matter how much they wanna put it in or whatever the fuck that they hold so much power they are apparently supposed to be structurally even stronger than the Kings will to tell you to fucking leave and get executed, apparently like why is the tournament still going on? Why is he even still there? Why aren’t you continuously to investigate and how the hell did they even get the drugs in there in the first place the fact that the royal family is not working is a royal family it feels like a huge plot hole that was never fucking developed because the author decided not to actually do any work when it comes to making it hard for their character and follow an actual plot that works .
