Being queer doesn’t excuse the usage of a slur, particularly in this situation. It’s mostly younger gens who use such slurs while disregarding the history behind it. Queer ppl can be homophobic too. Social media doesn’t reflect real life. The queer ppl I’ve met irl who use such slurs are only a handful.
There’s a lot of queers irl who are much older than me who use the slur fag playfully between eachother, it’s like when black people call each other the N word.
The way the translator used the word fag in this case is not appropriate. You wouldn’t use the word fag if you saw a man lynched for the crime of being gay. It’s one thing to use a slur between two people who are aware they’re not insulting each other compared to the translator calling the guy a fag wanting a dick when he’s been severely abused and constantly raped.

It's not solely because the translator used the word fag, but because their translator's note was inappropriate overall. It's specifically because of the problematic nature of this manhwa that the TL/N, "this fag will do anything for dick bro" is gross and insulting.
