I feel sorry for the mom ofc bc they made her marry someone she didnt love yadayadayada, BUT, shes been shown:
- to not care much for the child (she explicitly said in the letter "im leaving you bc my boo hates kids so fuk u") - to be very naive (a sheltered girl that ran away with a servant, causing her to be shuned - virtually dead, no family, no money, im assuming no skills) - to be very weak-minded
I am actually very, very, very worried as to why she wants the child back... I wouldn't put it past her to sell the little girl for money to keep running away with her lover :/
or, her lover left her and she realized how alone she is and wants to drag the child into her sorry life just so that she doesnt have to suffer alone u.u
