I don’t remember if the reason why yaba was a powerful healer was clearly stated, but I do know is that Yaba was already a healer back when he was kid. In that scene where Coca and Yaba was getting castrated, Yaba’s singing was the one that killed the doctors inside, and Giha got little injuries due to coca singing to his side simultaneously with yaba to protect himself from Yaba’s deadly song.

Coca can only heal. Yaba can do both. The doctors who castrated them thought it was Coca who did that but it was actually Yaba.
Thanks! Ive also read the novel 3 times now and knew about these interesting types of healer in the book. However, it is not really stated as to how these healers get the type of healing they have, prob by some coincidence whatever. Definitely astonished back then when I found out Yaba can both heal and kill unlike cocaine who can only heal with his song/voice. Currently reading it for the 4th time now

..is it explicitly stated why Yaba is such a powerful healer? Is it BECAUSE he can revive too that makes his healing just that much more potent?
