I get that he was hurt badly from what the top said but for seven fucking years he just assumed his boyfriend hated him and stayed??? Literally the affectionate one and who hugs him and cares for him is the top but he keeps on convincing himself there was never any love from him.

you can never know lol mc typa shift xd but anyways I think it's because he just loves him too much that even though he thinks that ml hated him, he still stayed. But that's what HE thinks and maybe the break up just serve as a big slap in his face, and that he's absolutely right, which is also an assume on his part because they fr lack on communication.
