I get that, but hear me out. The OG Gero and Kinosaki met during childhood and Kinosaki taught Gero the world outside. Gero helps him and his bro escape and sacrificed himself kinda in the process. Kinosaki believed him dead this whole time. Gero goes through hell, and clones were made of him with some memories of his deleted and the current Gero is the most successful. Maybe that's why he has an interest in DIY candy kits, he associates it subconsciously to someone that he has no memory of. It also explains why Kinosaki was so bitter in their first encounter, because who was this dude that resembles his first love but feels like a stranger, only to swoop him off his feet again. It's probably why Kinosaki is also putting a boundary, because he doesn't want a repeat of the past should Gero choose him again. Sorry for the ramble I just needed to get this out there ╥﹏╥
