i genuinely cant see beom and geonpil becoming endgame purely because im not sure if beom fully grasps what it means to be human and if geonpil truly sees beom as another person or simply as a companion.
the fact he wishes beom could turn into an animal just so he can have beom around is so sad, but fitting for their situation. beom doesnt necessarily want to be human either imo, he just wants to be loved and cared for, the way he acts now is also animalistic in the way his priorities are to eat sleep and do things geonpil wants (not what HE wants) simply because he doesnt wanna be discarded and alone again. beom also doesnt seem to care about geonpil in a romantic sense, he doesnt care when another girl wants to sleep with geonpil, or when the yeonsang came back. and i genuinely think its because he isnt human and he cant grasp or understand feelings and emotions.
