I’m so sick of authors giving us a better 2nd ML just for the FL to choose the shitty ML. Like, I think most of us are tired of that repetitive plot. They always make the woman choose the toxic man who, in the end, changes for her.
I have so many questions. Like, why is rape somehow justified when it’s the ML? But when it happens to a random character, suddenly it’s taken seriously? You can’t romanticize rape under the guise of “rough sex.” It’s weird. I went back to look at some chapters because this story is so frustrating, and I needed to check before making a comment.
Like, this asshole doesn’t deserve redemption at all, especially after chapter 24. Also, notice how in chapter 14 or 15, I think, she notices his ring, but then he subtly removes it while preying on her. That is so damn creepy. It makes me wonder, if she knew he was married from the beginning, would she have still gone through with it? But then again, she stayed even after she found out, and the way the author wants us to sympathize with her and feel sorry for her... girl, bye. I have no empathy for you.
All that suffering, all that work to move on, and you still forgive him and take him back? Fainting is also so emotionally manipulative on the author’s part. Three years of toxicity, she leaves for a year, and let me guess, she’s going to forgive him within a month.
And the author trying to justify the cheating trope by making the marriage a business deal. Bruh, be so for real. If you’re going to write a taboo story, then write a taboo story. Don’t try to find excuses to justify it.
Even her losing her virginity to him was annoying because it creates this narrative that a woman is somehow forever attached to the man who took her first time. I’m so tired of the love trap.
