i like how the author subverted the expectations w the MC, bc you would expect for him to be a pushover with how his personality is all bubbly and adorable but he does know how to set boundaries and he doesnt shy from confrontation, and he WANTED TO LEAVE!!!! he saw the scalation from the ML and even if he prob still loves him he recognized his father's abusive behavior in him, and didnt think twice if "it was just a one time thing".... we love a self-aware and emotionally intelligent king,, if only it were that simple Y_____Y we pray for the atticwife arc to end quickly and the chasing arc to begin at once, inshallah
