It was good

This was honestly so good on multiple fronts. For one, its surprisingly realistic. Everytime I thought the author would take.the easy way out in terms of confronting real issues, she actually goes even deeper on it then I expected. The characters are real people with real concerns and flaws, they argue, second guess themselves, and hurt others.

The MC was even unlikable at some points and made decisions i didn't agree with(being extremely pushy when it came to ML meeting his mom). But I thought his reaction made sense after thinking, to put it bluntly, how many people in reality have the patience to deal with depressed loved ones? Or loved ones with mental illness? MC for a while had that "just get over it" "just confront it" mindset that I think alot of people have, wanting the issue to pass quickly and for the other person to just "be happy" "lighten up" but its easier said then done.

I understand that it is a toll to have to accompany someone who is not mentally well and who even seems to be deteriorating, which the author also shows by having the MC even empathize with ML ex wife who left him for similar reasons. This is realistic. MC had the right intentions and was treating ML with the idea that he was the same as himself, wanting family, but they are different people. Im glad MC realized that and even went the extra mile to be with him 24/7 in order to really build ML sense of security. He didn't do anything else, just accompanied him and let him know he has someone always. He stopped pushing ehat he thought was right for ML and listened to what ML actually wanted with his own words. This let ML work up the courage himself to confront his demons.

The meeting with Mom and backstory had an interesting twist that actually i liked. Yes the mom did leave him, but when she latter found out Dad was abusing him as well she planned to get custody. But at the moment, Dad was hit by a car. In mom's head, she felt she had pushed him into traffic and killed him. Now is it true? Did she push him or was trying to stop them? This was never clearly answered. Butt I think either way it was this that helped ML confront his feelings of being unloved and feel loved by his mother. In a dark way, his mom vanquished his demons by "killing" his father, which allowed him to escape his nightmare. I was not expecting it to.go like that but I actually felt that, though it was plot convenient, it was indeed a way for ML to really feel the maternal love he'd been missing. So from there, it gave ML some relief and he could rebuild the relationship on his terms.

Now, for the 2nd ML. At first the 2nd ML with green hair pissed me off. I didn't feel bad for him. He was not a good friend. The MC mightve had some feelings for him at one point, but 2nd ML wore those down by being an F-Boy which was no fault but his own. MC lost feelings and settled on being friends, now 2nd ML changed his mind. It took MC moving on for him to confront his feelings and even then he was still sleeping with other people while being a sht friend and fckng up MC love life. Those type of people that are always like if we cant be lovers then not only cant we be friends, i will also dosregard your feelings and do things to mess up your new relationship so i can feel better, are truly trash. Also trying to blame MC by saying they never got together, not bc he was promiscuous, but bc MC didnt want to out himself? Fck off. Im glad MC cut him off completely when he inserted himself into MC and ML relationship with unnecessary input, which later causes problems and fcks with ML mental state. The decisive seperation was good.

As for 2nd couple with 2nd ML and the other guy. I actually liked it. Even tho I didn't like 2nd ML with MC, I felt a blank slate relationship with someone he hadn't hurt was still good. The other guy is very likeable and kind. Hes pretty straightforward too. He had hardly any suffering for dating 2nd ML. Rather than saying 2nd ML deserves him, its better to say I can accept it bc he had not hurt the other guy in any way, unlike how he did with ML and MC. The 2nd ML learned his lesson this time, did not hurt others, and quickly figured out his feelings and confessed without all the drama. So at least he learned and improved. I would have liked to see an apology to both MC and ML, but it might be best if they just never met again.

To conclude, a very good and realitic read with great art.
