Sadly thats how it was in the 80's and 90's
using physical violence to intimidate kids and to discipline them.
ya think it stopped in the 90s? bc i clearly remember a temp teacher hitting my (and a few girls') palm with a thin rattan rod and the boys in class with textbooks until the book cover came off, and this was 2019 (+ we were all hs seniors)
